Airdrie Over 50 Club Newsletter June 2025

“JUNE IS WHEN EARTH FEELS LIKE A CHILD IN A MAGNIFICENT TOY SHOP”
– Sigurd F. Olson
I hope this message finds you and yours well and in good health.
We ran into some issues last month with our utilization tracking system, which required
us to temporarily revert to our manual tracking method. As many of you know, utilization
is critically important for our continued presence in the City of Airdrie’s facilities. The city
can request our usage data at any time, and our numbers help determine our future.
Please remember to write your name and the activity you are participating in when
using the club. We are currently exploring better tracking solutions. So far, “Scan to
Sheets” has been the most effective and reasonably priced option. If you know of any
other reliable systems that might suit our needs, please let us know—we’d love to check
them out.
Spring Fling Party was awesome. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and
supported our Spring Fling! The DJ setup was a big hit—though we did notice that
unlike a live band, the DJ doesn’t take breaks, so it kept us all dancing non-stop! Hats
off to Doreen and her incredible team of volunteers for organizing such a fantastic party.
Your efforts made it a night to remember!
New Curling Rocks. We are excited to share that we’ve purchased new curling rocks,
which means our old system has been fully replaced. If you know of any senior facilities
that could benefit from our previous set, please reach out—we’d love to see them go to
good use.
Thank you all for your continued support and participation. Let’s keep making the most
of our amazing club!
