President’s Message:
I hope this message finds you and yours well and in good health.
In August warmth, may your heart be Light, Filled with Hope, and Shining Bright.
July was a quieter month at the club, with several events being cancelled for both July and August. Our main event was the VP BBQ, which sold out once again. We also tried a new entertainer this year. While the reviews were mixed, the overall response was more positive than not. The catered meal was excellent, and the homemade desserts were outstanding. Thank you to everyone who took the time to prepare them. They were greatly appreciated by all.
The Futures Committee recently met with the Board to present the progress they have been making. Their vision for the future of our club is exciting and offers many opportunities as we continue exploring the possibility of a new Seniors Centre. We look forward to keeping everyone informed as this work continues.
We are still looking for a Treasurer for the club. We have found a bookkeeper who we hope will be a great fit and will help support the financial side of our operations. However, we still need a Volunteer Treasurer. If you know someone with strong organizational and financial skills who may be interested in serving the club, please encourage them to speak with a member of the Executive. Your help in finding the right person is sincerely appreciated.

We’ll also spend time learning about mindfulness - what it is, how it supports emotional well-being, and how it can help calm the nervous system and reduce stress. The session will conclude with a gentle guided mindfulness practice that participants can use in everyday life.
No experience is necessary - just come curious and enjoy an hour of learning, reflection, and practical tools for supporting mental wellness.

For those celebrating this month. "May your birthday feel golden, cheerful, and full of endless summer sunshine.”

Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance, and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun.” – Kent Nerburn
