The Airdrie Over 50 Club’s biggest fundraiser is our weekly bingo. It brings in enough profit to pay our club expenses and manages to keep our membership cost at a minimum. However, the bingo requires from 8-10 people every week to have it function properly. To date the same 12-14 people have been repeatedly volunteering their time. With a membership of well over 350 we are asking our members to donate one Sunday per year to help out at our weekly bingo. It would require volunteers to be there from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm; a total of 4 hours. We have sign up sheets posted on the Bingo Board as you come into the club, for volunteers to sign up. Please help out and keep our club operating at its best.
There are also many other volunteers in various activities, social functions and travel that need to be recognized. Team work makes every task easier as Together Everyone Achieves More!
A great big “THANK YOU” to everyone for all they do!
The Executive Board has made a change to the club policies. Please note:
There will be no selling of merchandise by club members on club property unless Ways and Means hold a fundraising event to permit this.
JUST TO MAKE YOU SMILE:
A witty little knitter
A highway patrol officer pulled alongside a speeding car on the highway. Looking at the car, he was astounded to see the elderly woman behind the wheel was knitting.
The officer cranked down his window and yelled to the driver “Pull over!”
“No!” the woman yelled back, “it’s a Cardigan!”
Have a great week and hope to see you at the General Meeting, June 19th.
